ABOUT FONC
The Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center, Inc. (FONC) is a non-profit corporation founded in 1992 to promote a better understanding of the natural environment of South Florida and, in particular, of Palm Beach County. We support Okeeheelee Nature Center and it's commitment to the stewardship of Florida's natural resources. This is done by raising money for the enhancement and diversification of programs, assisting staff with recruiting volunteers, training programs, and publicity. We invite you to join us in supporting the work of the center as a non-profit corporation by becoming a member. All monies collected are used to benefit the Center and its programs. Your annual tax-deductible contribution helps to fund materials for service and management projects, exhibits, resident animals, and other educational pursuits. The Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center are all volunteers who are dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission. We do not have any paid employees. FONC sponsors or supports several fundraising events each year in cooperation with Okeeheelee Nature Center. The revenue raised from these events, as well as that from our Gift Shop sales, go entirely to support the Nature Center and its programs. We invite you to view our Upcoming Events page and encourage you to come out to see and help support the Nature Center, its amazing staff and its tremendous volunteers. Join us for our monthly meetings where we discuss general business and plan upcoming programs and activities. We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Meetings are free and open to the public. Call the Nature Center to confirm the date and time of our next meeting. |
